Went in yesterday. My husband went in for surgery and need money for medication. So, i tried pawning at another pawn shop but they were a bunch of snotty middle aged punks. I went to this pawn shop because it had better reviews. The gentlemen was very polite. Gave me what i was asking for (it wasn't much in the first place). I went in today to get my pawn out and it was very nostalgic. 5 older gentlemen sitting around talking about war stories.
UNFRIENDLY older guy runs the place. They try to get your items for next to nothing, and everything they sell is almost at retail prices. Horrible hours considering they aren't there half the time they advertise their hours to be. Avoid this place!
Gives me more than anybody around I drive from Festus just because of the money difference older gentleman yes just because he is not overly talkative I would not consider him unfriendly at all just quiet and probably been doing this for fifty years and ready to go home and retire I would be willing to meet anybody at theirs compared to him almost guaranteed you will get more of him every time
Both owners are assholes but fair it's a pawn shop they take tools/equipment still and unlike most commercial pawn shops they'll work with you
Very helpful! Much better than the jackasses down the street by slinger's who only offer you a loan a measily, what, 5% of the value of what you bring In? I hate those greedy weasels so much! This shop is much better though. The same item that would get you a $20 loan at the other shop will get you $40 here. At least that was my experience. The owner is a bit picky about the items that he takes but that's understandable. After 30 plus years in business he knows what sells and what doesn't. That's why he's picky. If you start your morning with a "skinny mocha frappe" and use the words "yolo" or "swag" excessively or if you shop at Whole Foods, then this shop isn't for you. The owner smokes at the front desk and you will probably be offended by the odor. To anyone else, I recommend going here before going to the one off of hwy 30 any day. This shop is located in Old Town Fenton between Hardee's and Denny Dennis.
